Monday, 14th October 2024

Preparing for your upcoming Permanent Makeup session is essential for achieving stunning, long-lasting results. Whether you’re looking to enhance your eyebrows, lash line or define your lips, follow these easy, but crucial steps to ensure a smooth experience and great results.

Semi Permanent Makeup - Pre-treatment Advice

  • No working out or any activity that will cause excessive sweating the day of your procedure.
  • Absolutely no alcohol or caffeine within 24 hours of the procedure as these can increase bleeding and affect pigment retention.
  • Avoid blood thinning medications for 48-72 hours prior to procedure. This includes Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Niacin and Vitamin E as this can cause excessive bleeding and affect the results.
  • No waxing, tweezing or tinting the area 3 days before your appointment.
  • No botox within 1 week prior to your brow appointment.
  • No fillers 2 weeks before or after your lip blush or eyeliner appointment.
  • No tanning or excessive sun 3 weeks prior or after procedure.
  • No chemical peels or laser treatments near the treated area for 4 weeks before or after your procedure.
  • No Retin A or retinols for 7 days before the procedure. If you are using skincare that contains Retinol (Vitamin A), salicylic acid, lactic acid, glycolic acid or anything similar, please note these ingredients can change the texture of the skin and can make it very difficult to implant pigment.
  • No Accutane within 1 year prior to procedure.

LIP BLUSH CLIENTS ONLY:

  • Make sure you are regularly hydrating your lips and drinking a lot of water on the days leading up to your appointment. If your lips are chapped or cracked this will affect the results.
  • If you ever had cold sores, been prone to any type of cold sores (herpes simplex virus) this means you have the herpes virus living dormant in your system and this procedure may cause an outbreak. Please contact your GP for a prescribed medication such as Acyclovir, Zovirax or Valtrex. You will need to take the medication 2-3 days before and 3-4 days after procedure.

EYELINER TATTOO CLIENTS ONLY:

  • Do not wear contact lenses to your appointment. If you normally wear them, please be sure to wear your glasses to your appointment instead as you will not be able to wear your contacts for the first week after your procedure.
  • No lash serums or tint for two weeks prior to or after your eyeliner or lash enhancement appointment.
  • You must have your eyelash extensions removed 4-7 days prior to coming in for your permanent eyeliner appointment.
